UPDATE, 12:30 p.m. Monday, August 9:

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding. We have overcome unforeseen technical problems and can now present the worship service for Sunday, August 8, 2021. Please keep in mind that everything you see was recorded on Sunday or before.

UPDATE, Sunday afternoon: We experienced technical challenges Sunday morning. We are able to record the worship service but were unable to broadcast it live. We are now working on getting the video ready for viewing. Thank you for your understanding. We are continuing to learn in this new reality and will keep getting better!

ORIGINAL POST:

Hello, members and friends of UUFE, today marks the dawn of something new. Please read on for a message from our Board of Trustees:

The worship service for Sunday, August 8, 2021, will be streamed from our YouTube page at 10 a.m. EDT. (The Order of Service is below.)

Join us Sunday, August 8 on UUFE’s YouTube page at 10 a.m. EDT. To go to our YouTube page — Click on this link.

We ask everyone for patience and understanding during this muddy time of figuring out how to “do” our services differently. Consider this our first step toward our new normal of fully inclusive services.

The Rev. Kevin DeBeck, who has ably provided technical and production support in creating our worship services since the start of the pandemic, has started a position as interim minister for the Southfield, MI, UU fellowship.

Now UUFE must step up and figure out what’s next. While there has been some work done over the last several months to work out the details, we’re not quite there yet.

To conform with YouTube’s restrictions, the recorded version of the live worship service may be different. For instance, playing a music video or a song with pictures over it is not allowed by YouTube. Simply put, you will still be able to watch UUFE on YouTube after Sunday, with some elements missing because of copyright reasons.

Rev. Amy and a couple of board members have recruited extra helpers, but if this is something you know about or would like to learn, please contact Rev. Amy to offer your time.

NOTE: In this time of transition, we will not have Virtual Coffee Hour today.
