A message from UUFE’s Committee on Ministry:

As we know, Rev. Amy will be leaving on December 31 after 13 years with us.

This message outlines her time that she has left with us and lists ways to be involved in this transition, including goodbyes. After December 26, her last few days will be spent on unused vacation so we have a very short amount of time left to wish her well and thank her. If you would like to talk on the phone simply call her at 574-304-1282, or schedule an appointment on Calendly at this link:  Good Goodbyes – Amy DeBeck  for a call or a Zoom call.

Rev. Amy, with the help of the UUFE tech crew, will be presenting her last three services on December 12, 19, and 26. Services are at 10 a.m. on Zoom, or can be viewed within a couple of hours afterwards on YouTube channel, UU Elkhart.

There are two opportunities to share a moment with Rev. Amy, both outdoors due to Covid restrictions:

1. On Sunday, December 19, the CUUPS Chapter will be holding its Solstice Fire at UUFE, and Rev. Amy will be there from 5-7pm.

2. On Tuesday, December 21, from 1pm to 3pm come to UUFE for a drive-by goodbye.  Rev. Amy will have a little holiday treat for folks who come by, delivering it to your car.

If you wanted to bring her a card or note these would be great times to do it; she always loves pictures or mementos of times spent together. The Committee on Ministry (COM) is working with Amy on these last rituals so that traffic flow is smooth and orderly. Questions may be directed to Annette Long – (574) 294-3227. The board president has started a tribute feed on the UUFE Peeps Facebook page also.

The UUA requires its ministers to sever ties with the congregation until they have a new minister with whom a covenant can be established.  Rev. Amy and her family will be abiding by this rule, so please do not be surprised or feel hurt to be unfriended on social media platforms or have emails bounce back.

In peace,

Your Committee on Ministry,

Annette Long, Laura Snow and Oxana Werbiansky
