New Social Justice Project for June

The Social Justice Committee is supporting a project introduced by Dwight Fish.

We have until the end of June to collect long sleeved, light-colored cotton T shirts to be given to migrant farm workers. The goal is 500 T’s. Bring them and put them in the Blessing Bag clothing box and we’ll separate them out. Contact Dwight Fish () for more details and information if required.

Please welcome Kristen Smith-Myers back as our yoga teacher in person. She will be with us on Thursday evenings beginning at 6:00 PM in the Gathering Place. There is a $10 fee for this event.

Blessing Bags for the Homeless

Our Fellowship participates in the community Blessing Bags project for the homeless. The next deadline is Sunday, June 23, 2024 with distribution on Thursday, June 27.  See the tubs in the Gathering Place for items to collect.   Light summer clothing and soft chewy bars are needed especially right now.  Thanks in advance for your support.  Contact Steve () or Karen Cripe () with any questions. “Restorative Justice”, Irwin Larrier

Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Elkhart 1732 Garden Street, Elkhart, Indiana, United States

Irwin Larrier is the Executive Director for the Center for Community Justice.  They focus on Restorative Justice, shifting the focus from broken laws and incarceration to repairing broken lives and healing damaged relationships.  We look forward to his words on the life-changing work that they do for Elkhart County.  Afterwards, coffee, tea, and refreshments will be in the Gathering Place, and our Meditation program will be at 11:45.

“Forgiveness”, Susie Holszuh

Susie Holszuh is a member of our Fellowship and previously has spoke.  She is going to speak on Forgiveness and taking responsibility for personal, mental, emotional, and physical care around unforgiveness and forgiving.  We look forward to this important topic that everyone can leverage.  Afterwards, coffee, tea, and refreshments will be in the Gathering Place, and our Meditation program will be at 11:45.

“Rabbit Holes”, Laura Snow

Our "soon to be" Board President is Laura Snow, who will assume that role on July 1st.  On July 14th, she will speak on a topic tentatively entitled, "Rabbit Holes", based upon a series of books she has read.  This will be an interesting message!  Afterwards, coffee, tea, and refreshments will be in the Gathering Place, and our Meditation program will be at 11:45.

“Revealing Who We Are”, Rev. Izzy Harbin

With a sermon entitled, “Revealing Who We Are”, Rev. Izzy Harbin will be our speaker on our 3rd Sunday in July. We are excited to have Rev. Izzy return to our pulpit! We will share Joys and Sorrows, and afterwards will be our monthly potluck in the Gathering Place. Please bring a dish, but don't worry, if you forget, there will be plenty!
