May 22 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pmFree
Come to this first official event from the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Elkhart about re-opening.
This is UUFE’s first in-person all-church event. We are so excited and, at the same time, we are also taking all recommended COVID precautions called for by local, state, and federal health agencies.
We are so looking forward to seeing you, but everyone’s safety is foremost in our planning and implementation. Thank you for your cooperation in following our safety guidelines.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
You will be asked to sign in when you visit. This is for contact tracing.
Masks required for 3 yrs. and older. Indoors and Out.
Please keep 6 feet apart from anyone not in your household.
WHAT WILL WE DO WHEN WE VISIT HOME?
Come inside this sacred space and spend a few moments in our Sanctuary. Light a candle, meditate, leave a stone — simply take in the air of beloved community after more than a year away. One person or family group will be admitted at a time, for safety but also for quiet.
Tour the Basement
Take a look at what has been done with a grant from the UU Disaster Relief fund!
Look for smiling eyes behind the masks to get a tour of the basement with its updated rooms.
Bring the kiddos for a little time to re-connect to their ol’ stomping ground. This is for pre-school through elementary age and we will keep watch for overcrowding!
Sidewalk Chalk Activities
Sidewalk art and activities will be great fun for all ages. Come and design your own sidewalk message or mural and other sidewalk activities.
And there’s more …
Check in with our Membership Crew to make sure your info is correct in the UUFE directory to make Beloved Community communications even easier!
Visit indoors with the Pagans and then take your ritual outside
Our CUUPS chapter has repainted and is redecorating our room after the flood of 2018. Come and visit this multi-use meeting place and sacred space.
Memorial Garden Reflection time with firepit
Take a moment to breathe. Reflect on this past year. Remember our beloveds who have passed on, before or during our Pandemic separation.
Visit with Covid Re-Opening Task Force, or see your Board and Minister! Get a little gift to take home!
These leadership groups are keeping careful tabs on safe practices for this new hybrid way of life. The task force advises the board and together, the Board, Minister, and Task Force promote safer connections for all of us. Visit with some of the folks who help make Visiting Home happen.
Visit With Each Other
Of course, we know in addition to these activities we will want to visit each other in person. Staff and volunteers are eager to see you . . . and this will be the time we must be most especially careful about distance and not “clumping” in our excitement!
As we learn from each event (and continue to watch the COVID rates in our area), we hope to be able to offer more outdoor opportunities through the spring and summer. Stay tuned, stay safe, and stay connected!
