About this Event

Judy Darnel is the instructor for this free class in which you will crochet several small projects, a dish cloth or hot pad, a soft ball, a mug cozy, and a cap, that will teach you the basics of crochet.

You will learn to read a pattern as well as basic stitches, which include the chain, single and double crochet and increase and decrease.

You will need the following supplies:

  • Yarn: 1 skein 4-ply worsted acrylic.
  • 1 ball cotton yarn, such as Sugar and Cream
  • Crochet hook: Size H
  • Tapestry needles
  • Scissors: children’s size craft scissors are fine
  • Sewing gauge or 6” ruler
  • Bag or box to hold-be sure it is large enough to hold your work.

The UUFE Learning Center is an all-volunteer program for the community to exchange knowledge. Classes are small, short-term and free (other than needed materials). Classes address a wide variety of life skills rather than academics. Pre-registration is requested as class size is limited.
