What to Expect

Our weekly Sunday morning services start at 10 a.m. in an uplifting atmosphere of peace, sharing, and celebration. There is no dress code; you’re encouraged to wear what is appropriate for you. We are, however, respectful of individuals who may have chemical sensitivities, so we ask everyone to keep our facility fragrance free.

Most services take place in our sanctuary on the north side of the building, adjoining our main entrance foyer. On certain occasions, services will be in our Gathering Place on the south end of our building. We have nursery care available for youngsters, if desired, but the expectation is for all but pre-schoolers and younger will sit in service. Our services are designed to be intergenerational in nature.

The form of our services varies. Most include a thoughtful sermon and related readings by our minister or a guest, a time for silent, spoken and musical meditation, and opportunities for active participation by the congregation.

Following the service, everyone is invited to remain for coffee hour, which may also include refreshments. This is a wonderful time to chat casually and get to know our congregation better and introduce yourself to our minister. Once a month, we have a potluck lunch following the service.

Content of our services varies widely. Some address issues central to all religions: whether there is purpose or plan to the universe, and the human role in the total scheme of things. Others concern the application of religious and ethical ideals to the world in which we live. And sometimes, the emphasis is on sheer celebration!
