The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Elkhart offers a variety of classes to meet the intellectual and spiritual needs of all ages.
Yoga with Kristen Smith
Every Thursday at 6 p.m. join us for yoga. Kristen Smith is an experienced yoga instructor who has led classes at the Elkhart Environmental Center, Rise Up Farms and Wellfield Botanic Gardens in Elkhart. Yoga is an excellent practice to increase one's strength, flexibility and balance, and to reduce stress. Cost per class is $10. Experience is not required. Participants should bring a yoga mat. A multigenerational worship service begins at 10 a.m., but there are enrichment activities before and after the service.
The Adult Forum meets at 9 a.m. for a free-ranging discussion of current events and other topical items. The group is open to all adults and gathers in the Children's House, next door to the main building.
Following the worship service, beginning at approximately 11:15 a.m., is our "second hour" Sunday classes. Second hour classes are on break for the months of June, July and August. For the 2016-17 program, youth classes will be built around First LEGO League.
Science and society
Each month, at 4 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday (meeting time changes to 6:30 p.m. on May 2, 2017, the Science and Society forum meets for intellectual discovery. These sessions consist of interesting half hour, pre-recorded, lectures on a variety of topics. These topics range from mathematics to music to sociology and critical thinking. We will also take a look at the World's Religious traditions in late 2017. We generally engage in discussions of the material after each sessions.
