About Our Services

Our weekly Sunday morning services start at 10:00 am in an uplifting atmosphere of peace, sharing and celebration. The form of our services varies. Most include a thoughtful sermon and related readings by our minister or a guest; a time for silent, spoken and musical meditation; and opportunities for active participation by the congregation.

An unusual feature of our church is the discussion and feedback following most sermons. Other opportunities to participate include "member musings" by an individual member each week; congregational reading and singing; sharing of personal joys and concerns; or sharing art, music or flowers. In periodic special services, members and youth of the congregation present all or most of the program.

Our services also vary in content. Some address issues central to all religions: whether there is purpose or plan to the universe, and the human role in the total scheme of things. Others concern the application of religious and ethical ideals to the world in which we live. And sometimes, the emphasis is on sheer celebration!

UUFE is a welcoming community encouraging religious freedom, nurturing individual spiritual and ethical growth, celebrating diversity, and promoting a just and sustainable world.
